What does IPNET-KENYA do?

Infection Prevention Network Kenya organizes scientific conferences, seminars, meeting and trainings to raise the scale of awareness of Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) issues nationally and regionally. The conferences also aim to educate, collaborate and foster understanding with stakeholders (communities, families, all health care settings, industries, and training institutions) on training, best practices of IPC and promote application of its knowledge for the good health of humankind. Besides, they provide a forum for regular exchange of information and sharing of expertise on IPC issues with other infection control societies in Africa and the rest of the world.

The society contributes to the formulation and revision of infection control policy, guidelines, IPC database and standard operating procedures (SOPs) to meet Joint Commissions International (JCI) standards and collaborate with other partners in research activities in infection prevention and control, healthcare epidemiology, antimicrobial stewardship and its related disciplines.

In addition, it recognizes, certifies and advances the specialty of infection prevention and control and its subspecialties through mentorship and training. Other operations include publishing newsletters, bulletins, proceedings of scientific conference and infection control Journals or use any other method to disseminate information. Lastly, the society collaborates with similar societies, organizations or allied professionals and establishments in Kenya, neighboring countries, commonwealth and other countries in the world for the attainment of Infection Prevention and Control Objectives.
